Another deadly deluge has hit a Chinese province, three months after the Henan floods. At least 29 have died and hundreds of “immovable cultural relics” have been damaged in the flooding in Shanxi.
Relief efforts continue in Zhengzhou and surrounding areas of Henan Province after record-breaking rains flooded the city.
Torrential rain flooded streets and deluged the subway system in Zhengzhou, a city of 10 million people in central China. The death toll is not yet known.
Neither COVID-19 nor floods nor earthquakes could stop China from organizing the nationwide college entrance examination or gaokao, which many young Chinese say is the most stressful test in the world.
