A walk on China’s steepest mountain

Hua Mountain of Shaanxi Province is among the steepest mountains in China. A plank road built along the face of a cliff attracts the bravest hearts across the world. How dangerous is it to climb down the cliff?

Several brave tourists climb along a path made of steel planks attached to the cliff face of Mount Hua in Shaanxi Province.

Below their feet, there is a seemingly bottomless chasm.

The path leads to a plank trail called the Chang Kong Trail, which is about 300 feet long.

The mountain is one of the Five Great Mountains of China and is well known for its steep cliff.

Tourists are protected by a safety rope around them while climbing down the road.
