Last week, we wrote about child abuse at a Ctrip daycare center in Shanghai. The news continued to garner attention. China Daily reports that the person in charge of the facility was detained. Meanwhile, some censorship instructions issued to the media by government authorities were leaked, according to China Digital Times. And the Global Times, always seeking a fresh take on everything, writes that the scandal “highlights the lack of childcare facilities in China,” which “may impact China’s efforts to increase birth rate.”
