Man catches falling toddler with bare hands in Chongqing
“I was scared as well. But if I failed to save her, it would be my lifelong regret,” said Zhang Yun, 42, after he saved a falling toddler on May 15 in Chongqing.
The incident occurred when Zhang was answering a phone call inside his shop and heard a noise. He then saw a toddler on a canopy about 130 feet away.
Afraid that she would fall, he rushed to the scene in 10 seconds. He shouted to the girl and asked her to stop moving forward. However, the three-year-old didn’t listen and fell into the arms of Zhang.
Chen Ling, the girl’s father, told Ecns.com that the toddler went to the bathroom alone but couldn’t open the door afterward. At that time, the kindergarten teacher was busy attending to other kids, so his daughter climbed out of the bathroom window to the canopy. According to Ecns.com, the kindergarten apologized for the incident, fired the teacher, and fenced off the windows.
