Third suspect in two months nabbed at a Jacky Cheung concert
Maybe criminals should stop attending Jacky Cheung concerts.
For the third time in less than two months, a Chinese fugitive has been captured at a Jacky Cheung concert. For the third time, it was by facial recognition technology.
The concert was Sunday in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province. The suspect, surnamed Yu, was reportedly identified at security check and nabbed while coming out of the concert, which was attended by 20,000 people.
Yu has been sent to Jiaxing city detention centre and will be handed over to police in Shandong, about 700km (435 miles) to the north, reported news site Thepaper.cn.
He is under investigation for a 2015 dispute in which he is accused of not paying for 110,000 yuan (US$17,200) worth of potatoes he had bought, after which he fled Shandong province, the report said.
On April 7, a suspected surnamed Ao was nabbed in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province.
It happened again on May 5ย in Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province.
What is it about Jacky Cheung ๅผ ๅญฆๅ, nicknamed Hong Kongโs โGod of Songs,โ that makes him irresistible to men on the run? โWhen you laugh so sweetly, I love you even more wildly,โ Cheung sings in Kiss Goodbye. I suppose whatโs freedom if not the ability to experience love and pain, vicariously, through a Jacky Cheung lyric. โI have finally been drunk and in pain with you,โ he sings in Just Want to Go with You All My Life. โBut I found that I cannot be without you.โ
โThese fugitives have some issues with their morality, but at least their music taste is pretty decent,โ one person commentedย on social media.
โPlease pay attention to those who want to return their tickets,โ said another.
The recent incident has accomplished the near impossible task of getting Chinese police to show a sense of humor. Police in Luoyang, Henan Province, where Cheung is expected to perform in July, wroteย on its official Sina Weibo account on Tuesday:
