The Terracotta Army
The Terracotta Army (兵马俑 bīngmǎyǒng) — the clay model military of China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang (259–210 B.C.E.), which was buried with him — was discovered in 1974 in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province. Xi’an is sometimes called the eastern terminus of the Silk Road. The city now hopes to become a major hub of the Belt and Road Initiative.
