A historical bridge

Lugou Bridge is a multi-arch stone bridge in Fengtai District in Beijing. It’s also called the Marco Polo Bridge, as the Italian traveler praises it in his book of travels. In July 1937, the Chinese KMT government’s National Revolutionary Army fought a skirmish against Japanese troops in the area, marking the start of the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937–1945).
