Blue boats
Small boats wait for passengers in Tongli, near Suzhou in Jiangsu Province. Tongli is one of the best-known traditional water towns of the Yangtze River Delta area. Many of these towns like to call themselves “the Venice of the East” because of their canals, even though some of their sophisticated canal systems predate the establishment of the Italian city-state.
