Communal round house
In southeastern China, the Hakka people of Fujian Province live in tulou, which translates as “earth buildings” on account of the material typically used in their construction. More than 3,000 of the large-scale clan residences are in use today, and 46 of them have been placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
