Drying tea leaves
Pu’er tea (普洱茶 pǔěrchá) is made from the leaves of the regular tea Camellia sinensis, which are fermented, dried, and pressed in a traditional method from Yunnan Province. The tea is considered to have health benefits, and it can be aged for decades or longer, like wine. Recent years have seen occasional speculative bubbles form when investors buy up stockpile bricks of Pu’er.
