The Hushan section of the Great Wall, the easternmost stretch of the monument, has undergone extensive restoration since its original construction in the 15th century. It runs parallel to China’s border with North Korea, and its name translates to Tiger Mountain Great Wall, after the nearby peaks that resemble the raised ears of the animal.
