The South-North Water Transfer Project

Workers in Dezhou, Shandong Province, build a canal section of the decades-in-the-making South-North Water Transfer Project in 2010. The Project was recently reported to have moved 10 billion cubic meters (353 billion cubic feet) of fresh water from the country’s south to the arid north in the few years since the project came “onstream.”
