The traditional orchestra
The Naxi Orchestra performs music in Lijiang Old Town in Yunnan Province. Music has always been important to the Naxi minority groups living in the region. The performers, ranging from young musicians to the elderly โ over 70 years old โ use traditional instruments such as the pipa (็ต็ถ pรญpa; the โChinese luteโ), erhu (ไบ่ก รจrhรบ; the โChinese fiddleโ), and huqin (่ก็ด hรบqin; another kind of fiddle).
