Through a sandstorm

Two youngsters and a camel struggle through billowing clouds of dust in Xiahe County in Gansu Province. Most prevalent during the spring months, sandstorms affect a wide swath of northern China from Xinjiang in the far west to the capital city of Beijing in the east, blanketing cities in dust and bringing traffic to a standstill.
