Trekking in the desert
Tourists ride camels over the dunes near Dunhuang in Gansu Province. The area is known as Mingsha Shan, which translates as “echoing-sand mountain” or “singing-sand mountain,” after the sounds made by interplay of the winds and desert surfaces.
