Chinese live-streaming site Qihoo 360 shuts down surveillance feature
TechNode reports that Qihoo 360, the video streaming service that was revealed last week to be broadcasting hundreds of live feeds around Beijing without users’ awareness, has shut down its platform for theย WiFi-operated surveillance cameras in question. The company admitted a “misjudging of user sentiment,” because, it turns out, people do not like not knowing that a private company is broadcasting their everyday activities online. As for Big Brother watching โ well, that’s another matter altogether.
