Xi Jinping takes an oath of allegiance to the constitution

Xi Jinping became the first Chinese president to take a public oath of allegiance to the constitution on Saturday.

Earlier that day, he was reelected as the Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, while his trusted ally Wang Qishan was elected vice president (even though he โ€œretiredโ€ at the 19th Party Congress last October).

The Party also released a new cabinet lineup that includes Yi Gang, who is the new head of the Peopleโ€™s Bank of China.
