Editor’s note for Tuesday, November 3, 2020
A note from the editor of today's The China Project Access newsletter.

My thoughts today:
If you want distraction from the U.S. elections, Chinaโs financial regulators have a special treat for you:
Yesterday, I notedย that with fintech giant Ant Groupโs IPO coming up on Thursday, Jack Ma (้ฉฌไบ Mว Yรบn) and the companyโs CEO and chairman were marched in for an unfriendly interview with four of Chinaโs financial regulators. Today comes the news that Antโs IPO โ which was to have been the worldโs largest to date โ has been suspended. See our top story below for details.
Our words of the dayย are suspend/postpone IPOย (ๆ็ผไธๅธ zร nhuวn shร ngshรฌ) and actual controllerย (ๅฎ้ ๆงๅถไบบ shรญjรฌ kรฒngzhรฌ rรฉn).
