Is travel about to boom after quarantine cancellation? Yesterday, the State Council announced the abolition of all inbound travel quarantine measures, which have been in effect since March 2020. From January 8, travelers will only require a PCR test within 48 hours of traveling. After 15 minutes of the announcement, travel agency Qunar ๅปๅชๅฟ็ฝ announced that the search volume on its platform for international air tickets had increased by 850%.
NIO vows no compromise with criminals: Following news last week that electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer NIO ่ๆฅๆฑฝ่ฝฆ had suffered a data leak and extortion attempt, William Li (ๆๆ Lว Bฤซn), NIO founder and CEO, stated yesterday that NIO will not compromise with the extortionists, even if the company goes bankrupt.
Missing industrial profits: According to the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to November, industrial enterprises above designated size reported total profit of 7.71 trillion yuan ($1.10 trillion), a year-on-year decrease of 3.6%. Profits at state-owned enterprises increased by 0.5%, while profits at private enterprises decreased by 7.9%. Over the same period, mining industry profits increased by 51.4%, while manufacturing industry profits decreased by 13.4%.
