2.6 million people applied for the national civil service examination that kicked off yesterday in 66,863 locations across the country, with only 37,100 positions available (1:70). The number of positions available this year is 18.7% more than last year.
Chinaโs banks handled 127.63 billion non-cash payment transactions worth 1.27 quadrillion yuan ($186.57 trillion) in the third quarter of 2022, year-on-year increases of 6.61% and 15.05%, respectively, according to data released by the Peopleโs Bank of China. 75.37 billion of the payments were electronic transactions, worth 806.68 trillion yuan ($117.94 trillion).
Sales of inbound and outbound air tickets increased by 628% year-on-year on January 8 when international passenger flights resumed and all pandemic control measures were canceled, according to online travel agency Tongcheng Travel ๅ็จๆ ่ก. Outbound Chinese tourists flew to more than 100 cities in 53 countries.
