Nominate a Rising Star for the The China Project Women’s Gala 2023
We seek to honor early-stage women professionals who are shaping the U.S.-China space.
During our The China Project Women’s Gala this May 18, we will continue our tradition of honoring inspiring talents with the Rising Star Awards. The award shines a spotlight on visionary women leaders who are making a difference in U.S.-China industries.
This year, we are expanding our Rising Star categories to include women working in: 1. Arts and Culture 2. Journalism 3. Philanthropy 4. Entrepreneurship 5. Academia
Nominees must:
- Identify as a woman and be under age 40
- Have a professional involvement with China
- Hold a demonstrable track record of excellence
Nominations will close Friday, April 7, EOD, and go to our team of esteemed judges for review. Our five judges are:
Amy Chua, Yale Professor and Author of Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother
Amy Y. Zhang, Executive Vice President, Portfolio Manager, Alger Group
Janet Yang, President, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
Merit Janow, Chairperson, Mastercard
Yang Lan, Co-founder and chairperson, the Sun Media Group and the Sun Culture Foundation

Rising Star Finalists will receive:
- A ticket to attend our May 18 Gala in New York City for high-value networking
- Publicization of their accomplishments in event materials, reaching an audience of over 2 million monthly viewers
- Access to a network of professional mentors and fellow talented women
