6.5 million EVs sold in China in 2022

6.49 million new energy vehicles โ€” mostly electric โ€” were sold in China in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 96% compared with 3.31 million vehicles sold in 2021, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA). Sales in December amounted to 730,000 units, an increase of 45% compared to last year.

Teslaโ€™s Shanghai factory delivered 710,000 units in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 48%, including 450,000 units of the Model Y SUV model, according to the CPCA.

Centrally-managed state-owned enterprises made 39.4 trillion yuan ($5.71 trillion) in revenues in 2022, an increase of 8.3% year-on-year, and net profit of 1.9 trillion yuan ($275.69 billion), an increase of 5%, according to the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission.
