Bloomberg reports that China has invited Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner to visit later this year, “according to people familiar with the matter.” The article says that details of the trip are still being planned.

Although neither the U.S. president’s daughter nor her husband have any government work experience at all, the Washington Post points out that they “are no strangers to China,” noting recent evidence of their understanding of the Middle Kingdom: Kushner’s family firm was found to be using its Trump connection to promise green cards to Chinese real estate investors, while Ivanka Trump’s fashion brand has “won approval in recent months from the Chinese government for sought-after trademarks.”
