CATL gets into boat batteries: Chinaโ€™s battery king CATL ๅฎๅพทๆ—ถไปฃ has registered a new company with capital of 100 million yuan ($14.05 million) to develop marine battery systems. CATL reportedly began studying marine battery technology in 2017 and launched its first battery-powered boat on the Yangtze River in 2020.

100 billion express deliveries: Yesterday, the State Post Bureau ๅ›ฝๅฎถ้‚ฎๆ”ฟๅฑ€ reported that a box of honey pomelo sent from Zhangzhou to Xiamen in Fujian Province was the 100 billionth express delivery this year.

Canadian coffee is big in China: Tims China, the China venture of Canadian coffee chain Tim Hortons, has reported revenue for the third quarter of $306 million, an increase of 67.9% year-over-year, and a net loss of $195 million. Tims opened 46 new stores in China in the third quarter, an average of a new store every two days, bringing the total to 486 stores.

BYD beats all electric and gasoline car brands: Earlier today, electric vehicle brand BYD Auto ๆฏ”ไบš่ฟชๆฑฝ่ฝฆ announced that it sold 230,427 units in November, an increase of 134.3% year-on-year. BYD was the highest selling of all auto brands in China in November, beating out Volkswagen.
