Canada suspends work with Chinese-founded development bank while it investigates complaints
Canada’s finance minister says it is suspending activity with a Chinese-founded development bank while it investigates complaints by a Canadian who resigned from the lender, saying it is dominated by “Communist Party hacks” and his country shouldn’t be a member. The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank confirmed Bob Pickard resigned as its director general of global communications. It rejected his criticism as unfounded. The bank, seen by some as a Chinese rival to the World Bank and Asian Development Bank, was founded in 2016 to finance railways and other infrastructure. Chrystia Freeland, who also is Canada's deputy prime minister, said democracies need to limit “strategic vulnerabilities to authoritarian regimes."

Hong Kong protest song disappears from music streaming sites, social media platforms
A popular Hong Kong protest song was no longer available on several major music streaming sites as well as social media platforms. The development Wednesday came after the government sought an injunction to ban the tune. The song “Glory to Hong Kong” rose to popularity during the 2019 pro-democracy protests, and became an unofficial protest anthem. The song was no longer available on music streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music. The tune was also not available on Facebook and Instagram’s Reels function. Spotify said the distributor had pulled the song. The song creator, DGX Music, posted on Facebook that it was “dealing with some technical issues related to streaming platforms” and apologized for the “temporary” issue.
